Driving through Cambridge you may have seen signs for Shen Yun 2014. Shen Yun Performing Arts will be holding events at the Citi Performing Arts Center, Wang Theatre from February 28th to March 2nd. This is an all-new 2014 show with a live performing orchestra.
Shen Yun Performing Arts presents a classical Chinese dance and music exhilarating show. The show features masterful choreography that ranges from grand imperial processions to sounds of thunderous drums, with dancers beautifully costumed moving in synchronized patterns.
This show has extraordinary visuals that “take you to another world”. The visuals feature flourishing landscapes and divine palaces with extravagant animated backdrops. The live orchestra produces music seamlessly combining the best of the East and West, giving each dance its own unique aspect.
Shen Yun features ancient legends of old and modern tales brought to life through the dances and music. Shen Yun Performing Arts has a unique difference, it brings together over one hundred of the world’s classically trained dancers, choreographers, and musicians. This show is based in New York and is “independent of China’s political regime”. Shen Yun wants to bring a new life to traditional Chinese culture, but at the same time providing viewers with beauty.
