Smart Windows

Looking for a new way to save money and be more environmentally friendly? Smart windows have technology that can alter the tint of the window based on the weather. Currently in more than 1,300 buildings, these smart windows can either have active glass that lightens and tints in response to electricity or passive glass that darkens in response to heat. Like transitional lenses, the passive glass in these windows does not use electricity; the heat changes the glasses configuration causing it to darken.
Smart windows can be used in building construction, for automotive use, for public transit and aerospace use. When the window detects change in weather it takes about 15-20 seconds to start adjusting and can be completely tinted or lightened in 3 minutes. By switching to smart windows, it can reduce electricity consumption for cooling and decrease lighting costs by about 50%. #savings #smart windows #green
