Planned Development Area (PDA) Master Plan
Sarah Peck
The filing kicks off the public review process for the proposed plan. Notice of upcoming public meetings will be posted on the plan website and sent out as soon as possible.
The following description has been provided by the development team:
Gillette, a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Procter & Gamble Company, proposes the redevelopment of an area generally known as Gillette’s South Boston Manufacturing Center (the “SBMC”). The Project involves planning the future of Gillette’s existing campus at the SBMC, which is an approximately 31-acre site. It is anticipated that the Project will be built out in phases. It is further anticipated that the Project will support the transition from a site located in a Manufacturing Zone where allowed uses are primarily commercial and industrial uses to a site zoned to also include residential uses as allowed uses. It is further anticipated that redevelopment of the Project Site will include a combination of contiguous, usable green open spaces linked to adjacent public realm improvements.
The public is encouraged to submit comments about the proposed plan. The current comment period will be open through June 05 2025, and can be extended if necessary. After the conclusion of the comment period, staff of the Planning Department will review feedback and determine next steps. Proposed projects and plans often go through multiple rounds of review. Once this process concludes, staff of the Planning Department will make a recommendation to the BPDA Board, which will consider the project at a monthly Board meeting. For any questions or concerns related to the comment period, please reach out to the Project Manager below.
