A new beer hall with a 17,000 square-foot tap room, outdoor garden and rotating roster of food trucks is expected to open just outside of Boston later this year.

The Great American Beer Hall is projected to open at 142 Mystic Ave. in Medford in the late summer or early fall of 2024. The beer hall is a joint venture between brothers Mark and Brian Zarthar, who said the beer hall will be a great addition to the redevelopment of Medford’s Mystic Avenue corridor.

“Acting as a ‘gateway to Boston,’ Mystic Ave.’s potential as a thriving area of commerce and entertainment has long been a vision for the city of Medford,” Mark Zarthar said about the reason behind the beer hall’s location.

“The Great American Beer Hall will serve as a local gathering spot that brings together the community and catalyzes a long-awaited reinvigoration of Mystic Ave,” he continued. “Patrons will come for the GABH’s New England craft selection, stay for its pizza and live music, and return for the community experience.”

The beer hall will feature some of the most popular beers from New England and around the country. Guests will also be able to sit in a 4,800 square-foot outdoor beer garden or on the mezzanine levels around the facility. Cocktails, wine and other beverages will also be served.

The beer hall will host a rotating food truck program in addition to its in-house restaurant, whose name has yet to be announced. The restaurant will offer traditional, American cuisine like pizzas, sandwiches, wraps, salads and more. People will also be able to book the beer hall for private events.
