Rafi Properties, owner of Somernova, announces the expansion of the Somerville Media Center (SMC) at the innovation campus. The new state-of-the-art media center aims to enhance community engagement and creativity.
SMC’s Legacy and Offerings
Established in 1983, SMC has been a hub for connectivity and creativity in Somerville. It has hosted nationally recognized programs such as “Dead Air Live” and “Let’s Talk About Race.” After being asked to relocate, SMC found a temporary home at Somernova in 2023.
New Media Center
The upcoming 5,000 square foot media center is tailored for the digital age. It’s designed to inspire the next generation of storytellers, innovators, and change-makers.
Community Impact
SMC’s expansion will support local non-profits, enhance youth programming, and foster on-campus partnerships. It will host a Youth Creator Club program in collaboration with The Dojo, empowering young minds in media production.
