French inspired British sandwich chain Pret A Manger is set to open its first two stores in Boston this week. The first store, located in the Financial District at 185 Franklin Street, opens November 14th. The second, located in the Back Bay at 507 Boylston Street, opens on the 15th.
The chain, which was founded and primarily operates in England, is expanding internationally to continental Europe and North America. In fact, the chain has already reached 48 locations in New York, Chicago, and Washington D.C.
Founded in 1986, the company has seen exponential growth in recent years. The inevitable rise of this quick and easy ‘take away’ chain is representative of changing consumer tastes in the United States. The brand focuses on fresh, natural foods and targets sales toward young professionals who are often “on the go”.
