Brookline Teen Center construction commences

Construction has begun on the $3.6 million Brookline Teen Center located on 40 Aspinwall Ave. in Brookline, Mass.

The teen center, founded by Brookline High School social worker Paul Epstein, is a space designated for academic enrichment, physical activities, as well as social and emotional development. The center will focus around teenagers in grades 7 through 12 who need a place to go after school.

“I saw a gap in local youth programs as the town has no dedicated youth center, YMCA, Boys & Girls Club or Jewish Community Center,” Epstein said. He saw the teen center as an opportunity to fill a void in the community. Epstein believes this project will empower youth and in return, youth will enrich the community in return (Boston Business Journal).
