Oracle Agrees to Acquire Acme Packet

 

Oracle to buy Acme Packet.
Oracle intends to acquire Acme Packet for $2.1 billion.

Acme Packet announced that it has agreed to be acquired by Oracle for an equity value of $2.1 billion. This acquisition is expected to improve all IP-networks so there is a secure and reliable communication between devices. It will also help service providers and enterprises with the demanding requirements of IP-networks.

Oracle is pursuing a strategy to deliver top-notch products that address consumer needs in a number of industries. Users will hopefully be able to communicate anytime and anywhere by using their application.

The transaction between Acme Packet and Oracle has been approved and it is expected to close in the first half of 2013. (bizjournals.com)
