’60s Theme Restaurant Opens This Week

A new eatery called Sterling’s will be opening on State St. this week and the décor is reminiscent of the 1960s. The Glynn Group spent $1 million to build this new bar/restaurant that will serve French classics, flatbreads, casseroles, and ‘60s-era appetizers. The prices are reasonable with entrees ranging from $15 to $28.

Sterling's to open on State St.
Sterling’s will be opening this week.

The restaurant is located at 60 State St. on the first floor of the office building. It has a 72-person capacity with “walnut wood bars, leather booths, herringbone tiles and navy-pin striped chairs evoking men’s suits.”

The Glynn Group is trying to do something different and since it is located in a building with 3,500 other people there is potential for success. This is the ninth bar/restaurant that the Glynn Group has opened including Clery’s in the South End and Granary Tavern on Milk Street. The name Sterling’s comes from the one of the characters on the hit television show “Mad Men”, which shows their devotion to the 60’s theme. The Glynn Group will not stop here; they plan on opening another two restaurants in Boston soon. (bostonherald.com)
