Boston is #1 city for Recent College Grads

The unemployment rate for new college grads is between 8% and 9% and it can be a job in itself to find employment. So It may actually be beneficial for students graduating from the many schools in the Boston area to stick around. Boston was named the number one city for recent college graduates by Rent.com and Forbes.

The report that was released looked at the top 25 markets with the most rental listing and compared it with the unemployment rate, cost of living, and annual mean wages. Most of the information was derived from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Census Bureau and Rent.com’s database.

‘The numbers are meant to represent the top 10 cities where newly-minted grads would be most likely to “find housing, work and a reasonable paycheck,” with double weight placed on the unemployment rate.’

Other cities that made the list were Washington, D.C., Seattle, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, and Denver. (Bostinno.com)
